Today is the Day.

Many people have been asking when Matt is leaving for his next patrol. Well, today is the day. We were so blessed to have him home to spend Christmas Day with us (and yes, the ENTIRE day). More pictures and posts on Christmas coming.

Even though the emotions are high and it is hard to say good-bye as he will be gone for several weeks, Matt was pretty excited because he had the opportunity to drive the submarine from the base pier to the ocean. Below are some pictures that my friend took as the USS Nebraska traveled through the Hood Canal and through the draw bridge.

John Paul and I will be fine during this time that he is gone. We have a wonderful support group of fellow wives and also very supportive friends and family. Of course, an extra prayer here or there for us would be much appreciated too.
