Thoughts on Advent

It is so easy to get caught up in the hussle of this time of year. There is always something going on, gifts to buy/wrap/send, cards to write, cookies to bake, tree to decorate. But am I really preparing myself for the birth of Christ? That's why I love Advent. It is a way to spiritually prepare myself for Christmas. I know that I should increase my daily prayer year round, but in Advent, I find that I make that special effort, I devote that little extra time. So in your busy-ness of this time of year, I pray that you can join me in preparing your heart, mind, and soul for the coming of the Christ child.
