Grandma and Grandpa's House

We traveled down to Kansas last weekend to party at Kristina and Gabe's baby shower. And it was my sister, Beth's, birthday, AND I got to meet and hold Alisa Lucille (Beth's daughter) who was less than 2 weeks old! Very fun weekend!

The boys are becoming quite the travelers. The 4 hour drive usually goes pretty well and pretty fast. Of course, we keep reminding them that they will get to see their cousins and Grandma and Grandpa (and tractors and combines) much faster if we keep on going.

A favorite activity was playing in all of the leaves!!
Ted was so kind to rake them all up into a big pile for them to jump in.
Beth turned 29 on October 24 so we celebrated her birthday. It was great! All of four of us were back with all of our kids and husbands AND my parents were there too. That hasn't happened in over 4 years! In Matt's extended family, they have this tradition where they celebrate a big birthday the year before they actually turn that age. So this year, Beth is "damn near 30." My mom decided to write it in Hershey's syrup on the cake except she started to write "you" instead of "near. " It was a very funny moment for the 4 of us in the kitchen watching her try to do this. So it turned into "Damn you're old!"
HOWEVER!!! Then we realized that my 8-year old nephew can read VERY well, and second-guessed the appropriateness of this, SO ...

It was changed to "Ta Da You're old."
