Polar Cubs Kick-Off Party

Our zoo sponsored this fun activity filled morning, complete with a simple breakfast and a couple activities for the kids.

My favorite was making "Flying Fish." They drew a face on a nylon sock, placed a handful of medium-sized beads in it, and tied it shut.
Then the kids could toss their "fish" into a bucket marked "ocean." It was pretty cute and the boys are still playing with them at home too.
At another station, the volunteer was talking about hermit crabs and the shells they can live in. She helped the kids listen to the sounds in the shell. It was pretty cute that when she held it up to Ethan's ear, he said "Helwo?" We were all laughing at that one.
And of course a visit to the aquarium. We saw the penguins being fed and swimming around.
