Well, it is official! Matt received his orders for his next duty station at Offutt Air Force Base in Omaha, NE. We have been contemplating for quite a while whether to stay in the Navy or to get out in November. After a lot of prayer and many discussions (and when we found out we would be going to Omaha), the decision to stay in the Navy was made. It is a two year commitment and it is shore duty, so it means he doesn't have to leave. WOOHOO!! Also, with the job market the way it is, it gives us two more years of stability. Besides we get to live in Nebraska which is about 5 hours north of my parents and 7 hours south of Matt's family. That means we can travel to see Grandpa and Grandma much easier and the boys get to see their aunts, uncles and cousins much more too.
So the plan will be to pack up our house in the middle of July and be moved to Omaha, in August. Prayers would be appreciated that all of it goes smoothly and that we find guidance with our house (either a buyer or a qualified, responsible renter.) We'll keep you updated!
